Seed Swap at Farmers' Market
in cooperation with The Village Garden Club
As they say, no farms, no food. As a gardener, you can start to gain insight by learning to save seeds for your own garden. No seeds, no gardens! Today, with the tragic continued loss of genetic diversity and corporate patenting of seeds, saving and celebrating heirloom and open-pollinated seeds is more important than ever. The best way to get started is by doing!
So join us this fall for a Community Seed Swap at the 2nd Street Farmers' Market on Thursday, October 12, 2017. Start saving your summer seeds and then come swap with other "seed savers" from 3:30 to 5:30 that afternoon.

- Bring your seeds in a jar or container, labeled with ingredients. (Let them breathe so they don't rot!)
- It might be helpful to have a photo and/or brief description about the plants from which the seeds were taken.
- We will have small envelopes and spoons for folks to dip and collect bits of whatever interests them (along with pens to label the envelopes).
