Second Stage has an important role to play in Amherst, but as a nonprofit, it walks a financial tightrope. To ease the financial stress, and maintain stability in the budget, another predictable income stream is necessary.

The Strategic Plan, that SSA adopted in 2023, contains an answer to this need: a Second Stage Membership Plan. For the past couple years, our President, John Vandervelde, has been meeting with people in and around Amherst to discuss ways of implementing a Second Stage Membership Program. One that would offer a range of perks and privileges for a modest annual fee. In addition to generating a steady income flow, it would advertise our offerings, increase our attendance at activities, and expand our reach to a broader range of persons in and around Amherst. Member’s Only events are one of our featured offerings, showcasing Variety in the form of invited guests and interviews, skills and expertise shared, and opening the eye of the Community to available knowledge that wasn’t before realized. 

With multiple options made available, you can choose the Membership that suits your needs and interests.

Individual and Family "Stage Hand" Membership:
This Membership option is geared towards, specifically, Individuals at $60 per year and Families at $75 per year. Benefits included in this package are:

• Free admission to any and all Members Only events.
• Free admission to our Summer Concert Series.
• 20% discount on Second Stage room rentals, including the Main Hall, Community Room, and Green Room. 
• 20% discount for your children attending our annual Donna Meeks Summer Arts Camp.
