EVENT & TICKETING POLICY
Please know that purchasing a ticket from Second Stage assumes you agree to the terms set forth in this policy. Terms may change at any time based on leadership, public health, and legal guidance and/or regulations.
- All persons, regardless of age, must have a ticket for ticketed performances in our venue.
- Tickets may be purchased in advance or at the door.
- There are no refunds or exchanges. Exceptions will be addressed by the Board on a case-by-case basis.
- Your payment and personal information is protected by Transport Layer Security (TLS), the industry standard for secure commerce transactions. Your personal information, including credit card number, is encrypted so that it cannot be read when it is sent over the Internet.
- We ask that any visitors exhibiting signs of illness refrain from attending.
- Ticket holders assume all risks and waive any rights against the issuer (Second Stage), its agents, and performers.
- Should an event be canceled, the decision will be announced and emailed to all ticket holders in a timely manner. If a show is not rescheduled, we will offer the option to refund tickets.
- Guests will be asked to leave the venue should they not comply with any portion of this policy.
WAIVER & RELEASE POLICY
Enrollment in programs at Second Stage qualifies as legal signature.
I am the participant or parent/legal guardian of the participant, who is a minor under the age of 18 years old. I hereby acknowledge that I or my child is participating in the the enrolled program at Second Stage Amherst. In consideration for my or my child's participation in the camp, I agree to the following terms and conditions:

- Assumption of Risk: I acknowledge that participating in the program may carry inherent risks, including but not limited to, physical injury, illness, or death. I voluntarily assume all such risks and accept full responsibility for any and all damages that may result from my or my child's participation in the camp.
- Release of Liability: I hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Second Stage Amherst and its directors, officers, employees, agents, volunteers, and any other participants from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by me, my child, or to any property belonging to myself or my child, whether caused by negligence or any other act or omission.
- Indemnification: I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Second Stage Amherst and its directors, officers, employees, agents, volunteers, and any other participants from any and all claims, demands, actions, causes of action, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from my or my child's participation in the program.
- Medical Treatment: In the event of any injury or illness, I authorize Second Stage Amherst or its representatives to secure from any licensed hospital, physician, and/or medical personnel any treatment deemed necessary for my or my child's immediate care and agree that I will be responsible for payment of any and all medical services rendered.
- Photo/Video Release: I grant Second Stage Amherst and the directors or agents the right to take photographs and/or videos of me or my child during the program and to use them for promotional and marketing purposes.
- Governing Law: This waiver/release shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Virginia, and any legal action arising from or related to this agreement shall be brought in the courts of Virginia.
PRIVACY POLICY
Second Stage respects the privacy of our users. If you do not agree with and accept the terms of this policy, please do not access this site.
- We reserve the right to make changes to our policies at any time and for any reason. Any changes or modifications will be effective immediately upon posting an updated policy and you waive the right to receive any specific or advance notice of each such change or modification. You are encouraged to periodically review this policy to stay informed of updates and will be deemed to have been made aware of, will be subject to, and will be deemed to have accepted the changes in any revised policy by your continued use of the site.
- We may collect information about you, including personal and financial data. We retain payment information only for payment processing. We may share your information with third parties that perform services for us or on our behalf, including payment processing, data analysis, email delivery, hosting services, customer service, and marketing assistance. If you no longer wish to receive correspondence, emails, or other communications from third parties, you are responsible for contacting the third party directly.
- We use administrative, technical, and physical security measures to help protect your personal information. While we have taken reasonable steps to secure the personal information you provide to us, please be aware that despite our efforts, no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and no method of data transmission can be guaranteed against any interception or other type of misuse. Any information disclosed online is vulnerable to interception and misuse by unauthorized parties.
BUILDING USE POLICY
Second Stage | Amherst, Inc, as a community cultural organization, provides a place for education, entertainment, and enrichment. Our building is a government property that is leased to Second Stage; we operate as a free and open forum. We believe that public discourse and a free marketplace of ideas are the bedrock of a strong democracy. All programs at Second Stage will enjoy the protection of freedom of speech, whether produced by Second Stage, its long-term tenants or organizations and individuals unrelated to Second Stage who utilize its short-term rental spaces.
These protections and privileges, however, will only be allowed in the spirit of tolerance, respect, and common decency. We do not condone programs or productions whose words or actions inflict injury, incite a breach of the peace, provoke violence, engender discrimination on the basis of race, religion, gender, or creed, or otherwise run counter to law. The Board of Directors of Second Stage reserves the right to refuse or to halt, even in mid-production, any program that is determined to be counter to these stipulations or does not serve the mission of the organization. An offending individual or organization may be henceforth prohibited from access to Second Stage.

THE MARKET AT SECOND STAGE VENDOR POLICY
Eligible vendors shall live within 100 miles of Amherst, Virginia. A PRODUCER is defined as the person(s) who grows, produces, or makes the product. No live animals may be sold at the market. Producers may sell farm and kitchen products including but not limited to fruit, vegetables, eggs, cut flowers, herbs, plants, properly labeled baked goods (see USDA), butter, honey, jams, jellies, and sauces. Bottled cider and wine, meats, poultry, fish, and cheeses processed in a Department of Agriculture-approved facility are eligible. Any vendor selling these products is required to comply with all applicable local, federal, and state laws with regard to production, harvest, preparation, preservation, labeling, food safety, and inspection. It is the responsibility of each producer to abide by all state and federal regulations that govern all products the vendor offers for sale at the market. Vendors are solely held liable for their own products. Arts and crafts are permitted for sale by all approved vendors. The vendor or employee must make all arts and crafts and no items shall be purchased for resale. All items are subject to pre-approval by the market manager. Payment of all applicable sales taxes is the responsibility of the vendor.
All vendors must be willing subjects of question and verification. All vendors must be willing to participate in a "farm visit" by the market manager or approved designee. All appointments and considerations will be made to impose the least amount of imposition possible. Failure to follow through with requests of verification, or providing inaccurate product information to any potential customer may justify the restriction of the vendor's products and/or dismissal from the market without refund.
Prices of items should be clearly displayed. Packaged items and baked goods must have ingredients listed on the label and the notice that the product was produced in a home kitchen when applicable. Marketing terms or phrases that require special certifications such as "organic" should not be used unless certifications are displayed. Vendors must remove all trash, containers, and debris at the conclusion of each market.

- Treat individuals, fellow vendors, and management with respect, courtesy, and tact.
- Promote safe operations and comply with all appropriate safety and health regulations.
- Report safety and health hazards promptly so that they can be corrected before injury results.
- Provide the highest level of customer service possible.
- Comply with all policies of The Market at Second Stage.
Vendors who engage in any of the following are subject to suspension or expulsion from the Market:
- Careless or willful destruction of Market property.
- Use of chewing tobacco, cigarettes, or snuff products while on premises.
- Manufacturing, distributing, possessing, using, or being under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs while at the Market.
- Threatening, assaulting, sexually harassing, or using obscene language toward a fellow vendor, market management, or the public.
- Using racial, sexist, or ethnic slurs.
- Open carry, illegal, or inappropriate weapon use.
- Engaging in rude or unprofessional behavior or disorderly conduct, even if the behavior is not expressly forbidden by regulation or laws.
Vendors shall hold The Market at Second Stage, the Management, Amherst County, and the Town of Amherst harmless from any liability whatsoever that results from their activities at The Market at Second Stage.
