Melanie Ernst (Director) is filled with gratitude to come back to Lynchburg and direct this Pulitzer Prize winning script! Recent credits include being the Company Manager for Xanadu and The Cake as well as the Stage Manager for Murder on the Orient Express, Unnecessary Farce, and The Wizard of Oz (New York, Cortland Repertory Theatre, 2023), Stage Managing the National Tour of The Thorn in Broadway houses all over the country (Thorn Productions, 2023), and Stage Managing the original musical A Christmas to Believe In in the stunning RiverCenter for the Performing Arts (Columbus, GA, Cascade Hills, 2022). One of Melanie's all time favorite theatrical collaborations was directing a play she wrote entitled PROFILE (Liberty University, 2021). She sends love and thanks to her friends and mentors for cheering her on from near and far, and her family for always being her biggest cheerleaders. Kaley Hutter (Stage Manager) is excited to continue pouring into the Lynchburg arts community through Viridian Stage Company’s production of Proof. Recent credits include Stage Managing The Music Man, The 39 Steps (Alluvion Stage Company), 42nd Street, and Oliver! (Liberty University). Kaley has also worked backstage at the Academy Center of the Arts for national tours such as The Price is Right Live! and Ailey II Dance Tour. When Kaley is not stage managing, she enjoys playing Dutch Blitz, discovering new words, and perfecting her afternoon cup of coffee. She hopes that this play moves and challenges audiences, ultimately illuminating our basic human desires to love and be loved, to know and be known. All the glory to Jesus!

Abby Owen (Catherine) is originally from Orlando, Florida. She started dancing at the age of three and has been on the stage ever since! Abby received her BFA in Musical Theatre from Liberty University in 2022. Since graduating, she has been choreographing in the Lynchburg area, but is so ready to act again! When Abby is not in a show, you can find her reading, thrifting, or hanging out with her husband.
Seth Somers (Hal) is an actor from Halifax, Nova Scotia and he is very grateful for the opportunity to tell this incredible story. Seth has spent the last four years completing a BFA acting degree at Liberty University where he performed in over ten productions including Little Moon of Alban (Lt. Kenneth Boyd), Curtains (Aaron Fox), Doubt (Father Flynn), and Romeo & Juliet (Romeo). He also acted in Alluvion Stage Company’s production of Fiddler on the Roof (Fyedka) and has starred in multiple film projects. He would like to thank his family and friends for their support and guidance and his fellow artists that inspire him without end.
Jordan Prather (Claire) is ecstatic to have the chance to be part of bringing this incredible show to life! She is a recent grad from Liberty University where she got a BFA in Acting. Recent credits include The Music Man, Fiddler On The Roof, A Christmas Carol, and Parade (Alluvion Stage Company) as well as Romeo and Juliet, Emma, The Darkest Evening, Little Moon of Alban, Decipher, As It Is In Heaven (Liberty University). She wants to thank her family and friends for their continued support and hopes that this show reminds you that while not every life is the same, every story matters.

Karl Lindevaldsen (Robert) has been performing since he was a young child. He was part of a professional improvisation group called The Fantasy Players that performed throughout the NY metro area. After graduating from The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NYC, Karl joined the historic theater company The Light Opera of Manhattan and performed in numerous operettas, including The Pirates of Penzance, The New Moon, The Merry Widow, and Naughty Marietta. He performed in many cabarets in NYC and was chosen to perform for Ronald Reagan’s inauguration in 1985. Karl continued to sing in concerts and perform as a soloist in NYC. He took a hiatus from his professional performing career for 10 years while he traveled the world as an employee of Air France. After leaving Air France he was blessed with a family and chose to homeschool his 3 children.He returned to the stage when he moved to Lynchburg with his family in 2005. Since then, he has portrayed some of the most wonderful characters in theater. He performed with Endstation Theater Company in Assassins as Charles Guiteau, The King in Big River, and Father in Violet. He has portrayed Judge Turpin in Sweeney Todd, Reverend Parris in The Crucible, Herr Schultz in Cabaret and Pierre Michel in Murder on the Orient Express with Wolfbane Productions. He played John Adams in 1776 for 6 years on the Fourth of July weekend at Poplar Forest and The Earl of Gloucester in King Lear at the same venue. He has performed at Sweetbriar College in many shows, including Lord Farquad in Shrek, Archibald Craven in The Secret Garden, and Guido in Nine. He has performed at the University of Lynchburg in Pippin( Charlemagne), Curtains ( the Director) and How to Succeed... ( J.B. Biggley) He has enjoyed performing at the Academy Center of the Arts in such shows as Follies (Ben Stone) Cogsworth in Beauty and the Beast, Hello Dolly (Cornelius), the Baker in Into the Woods, and El Gallo in The Fantasticks. He also has played Paul in Company, Oliver Warbucks in Annie, Lyman Wyeth in Other Dessert Cities and juror 4 in 12 Angry Men in local theater companies. He portrayed the Baron in La Traviata with Opera on the James at the Historic Academy Center of the Arts. Throughout his time in Lynchburg, he has been a guest instructor for various theater programs for children, youth, and college students and has been a judge for VTA. He directed The Crucible at Brookville High School. He has been part of Brian Clowdus Productions unique outdoor shows in The Sound of Music , Oklahoma, Christmas Carol and The Narrator/Mysterious Man in Into The Woods. This summer he will be playing the Skipper in Gilligan’s Island The Musical at a resort in Maryland. This fall he will portray Robert in Proof for Viridian Stage Company.
